Role Description The Director of Nursing for the Skilled Nursing Facility or Assisted Living Facility will oversee all nursing operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care and regulatory compliance across both settings. This full-time, on-site role in NJ or PA includes supervising nursing staff, managing staffing levels and scheduling, and promoting best practices in clinical care, infection control, and resident safety. The Director will develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and lead quality improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include overseeing care plans, monitoring clinical outcomes, managing audits and surveys, supporting staff education, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role also involves engaging with residents and families, addressing concerns promptly, and fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and professional development.
Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in Nursing Management, including supervision of clinical teams and oversight of nursing operations.Strong Nursing and Medicine knowledge, with the ability to guide evidence-based practice and support complex clinical decision-making.Experience in Infection Control, including developing and enforcing protocols to prevent and manage outbreaks.Background in Long-term Care, including familiarity with regulatory requirements, survey readiness, and resident-centered care.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey (or eligibility for licensure) and prior leadership experience in skilled nursing and/or assisted living settings.Proven ability to manage staffing, budgets, and clinical resources while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.Strong communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.Experience with electronic health records (EHR), documentation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.BSN preferred; advanced certifications in gerontology, long-term care, or nursing leadership are an asset.
