Microsoft 365 (M365) Specialist

Reports To: Director, Global IT Support & Collaboration Services

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft 365 Specialist to manage, optimize, and support our global Microsoft 365 environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of core collaboration and productivity platforms, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and related services across a geographically distributed organization.

The M365 Specialist will serve as a technical subject matter expert, supporting end users across multiple regions, driving platform governance, and implementing best practices to enhance collaboration, security, and operational efficiency at a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

Administration & Operations

Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)Manage user accounts, licenses, roles, and permissions through Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Admin CenterMonitor service health, performance, and availability; troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requestsPerform tenant-level configuration, updates, and feature deployments

Security & Compliance

Implement and maintain security controls including MFA, Conditional Access, and data protection policiesSupport compliance initiatives (eDiscovery, retention policies, audit logs, DLP)Monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities within the M365 environmentEnsure adherence to organizational and regulatory security standards

End User Support & Enablement

Provide Tier 2/3 support for Microsoft 365-related issues and escalationsDeliver user training, documentation, and knowledge base content to drive adoptionAct as an escalation point for complex collaboration, messaging, and identity-related issues

Engineering, Projects & Optimization

Lead or support migrations to/from Microsoft 365 (email, file shares, tenant consolidation)Implement governance models for Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive usageIntegrate M365 with enterprise systems and third-party applicationsIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, automation, and platform efficiency

Automation & Documentation

Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell or native M365 toolsMaintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating proceduresDevelop and maintain reporting dashboards for usage, health, and compliance

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Microsoft 365 administration and support experienceStrong expertise in:Exchange OnlineMicrosoft TeamsSharePoint OnlineOneDrive for BusinessExperience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity/access managementProven experience implementing Microsoft 365 security and compliance controlsProficiency in PowerShell scripting and automationStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) Hybrid environments (Azure AD Connect, on-prem AD integration) Familiarity with governance frameworks, ITIL processesMicrosoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, MS-900, MS-700, AZ-104)Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
