A prestigious global law firm is seeking an Associate Director of Artificial Intelligence – Knowledge Transformation to lead one of its most exciting and strategically important AI initiatives.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming decades of institutional legal knowledge into structured, AI-ready assets that will power the firm's next generation of AI-enabled legal services.
You'll lead a specialist team responsible for curating, structuring and optimising legal knowledge while working alongside Legal Innovation, Legal Engineering, Knowledge Management and AI professionals to deliver enterprise-scale AI solutions that will influence how legal services are delivered for years to come.
The RoleAs Associate Director, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the firm's Knowledge Transformation strategy, ensuring legal knowledge is organised, governed and optimised for use across AI-powered platforms.
Key responsibilities include:Defining and delivering a multi-year Knowledge Transformation strategy.Leading and developing a team of Knowledge Transformation professionals.Establishing best practice for knowledge engineering, metadata, taxonomies and information architecture.Building and maintaining AI-ready knowledge repositories, including transactional precedents, playbooks, clause libraries and practice guidance.Partnering with Legal Innovation, Knowledge Management, Legal Engineering and AI teams to integrate knowledge assets into AI-powered workflows.Developing governance, quality assurance frameworks and performance metrics to ensure knowledge assets remain accurate, scalable and effective.Driving continuous improvement and adoption of AI across legal practice groups.
About YouWe're looking for an experienced leader with a passion for Artificial Intelligence, legal knowledge and innovation.
You'll ideally bring:Significant experience within Legal Knowledge Management, Legal Technology, Legal Innovation or legal practice.Previous experience leading and developing high-performing teams.Expertise in knowledge engineering, taxonomy development, metadata and information architecture.Experience designing and managing structured knowledge repositories.Strong understanding of Generative AI and how structured knowledge supports enterprise AI solutions.Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior leadership.Experience working within transactional legal practice is highly desirable, although broader legal expertise will also be considered.
