Comptroller
We are seeking a high-impact, hands-on Comptroller to lead financial operations. Reporting directly to ownership and senior leadership, this role is responsible for the integrity of the accounting function, financial reporting, and complex payroll processes across a diverse portfolio of companies. This is a pivotal position for a leader who excels in a fast-paced, complex operating environment and seeks to serve as a key advisor to executive leadership.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management: Oversee the full accounting lifecycle for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and financial consolidations.Reporting & Insights: Lead month-end and year-end close processes; provide executive leadership with comprehensive financial reporting and strategic insights.Full Financial Statements: Responsible for financial statements including a WIPPayroll & Compliance: Support the management of field staff and union payroll operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and industry standards.Operational Support: Manage intercompany transactions and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.System Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and support ongoing system enhancements to increase efficiency.
RequirementsIndustry Expertise: Must have substantial accounting experience specifically within the Trades sector.Technical Proficiency: Must have extensive experience managing accounting for multiple entities, including consolidations and intercompany reporting.Full Financial Statements: Must have strong full financial statement current experience including a WIP.Leadership Style: Proven ability to manage an accounting team with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to daily operations.Regulatory Experience: Strong background in union payroll environments strongly preferred and familiarity with Civil/DOT regulations a big plus.Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with Sage or similar industry-standard accounting software.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
