This role is about the projects those numbers help win.
Every successful structural steel project starts long before fabrication begins. It starts with an estimate that is accurate, competitive, and gives the business confidence to pursue the right opportunities.
You'll be the person turning drawings into strategy.
Working alongside an experienced team, you'll review plans, perform takeoffs, build detailed estimates, and help position the company to secure future work. Your expertise won't sit in a spreadsheet—it will directly influence which projects move forward and contribute to the company's continued growth.
What You'll Be Doing• Prepare detailed estimates for structural steel projects• Complete material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor takeoffs• Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors• Communicate with contractors and project stakeholders throughout the bidding process• Support proposal development and maintain bid schedules• Track submitted bids and assist with post-bid follow-up activities
What We're Looking For• 5+ years of estimating experience within structural steel fabrication and/or erection• Strong ability to read structural and architectural drawings• Experience preparing detailed material and labor takeoffs• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and industry-standard takeoff software• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
