Job description

Job Description1. General Overview:We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to serve as the lead quality professional at our new Snow Hill, North Carolina facility. TheQuality Engineer will be responsible for daily quality execution, coordination with customers and suppliers, and ensuring disciplined quality processes across incominginspection, molding inspection, customer quality issues, and corrective actions. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing and automotive environments,understands IATF expectations, works well with production and engineering, and takes ownership of quality issues from identification through closure.
2. ResponsibilitiesIncoming Inspection & Supplier Quality Oversight Oversee incoming inspection activities for raw materials, components, and purchased parts. Ensure inspection criteria, sampling plans, and acceptance standards are clearly defined and followed. Review and maintain material certifications, inspection records, and supplier documentation. Work with the Director of Quality and suppliers on quality issues, containment, and corrective actions.Customer Quality & Corrective Actions Serve as the primary on-site contact for customer quality issues in coordination with CQE team in Mexico. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities, including 8D reports, containment plans, and permanent corrective actions. Track customer RMAs, returns, and chargebacks to closure. Ensure timely and professional responses to customer quality concerns.Process & Molding Quality Oversight Provide quality oversight for injection molding processes, including first article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections. Review molding inspection standards, defect criteria, and control plans. Partner with production, engineering, and tooling teams to address process variation and defect trends.Quality Systems & Documentation Maintain quality records, inspection documentation, nonconformance reports, and corrective action files. Support development and enforcement of IATF-aligned work instructions and procedures. Assist with internal audits, preparation for customer audits, and readiness for future IATF certification audits. Ensure quality documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Support Analyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving with production, engineering, and operations. Promote consistent quality expectations, discipline, and accountability throughout the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 5+ years of experience with QA/QC, validation, testing, product development Experience supporting injection molding or electromechanical assembly processes. Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic quality recordkeeping. Experience supporting new facility startups or plant launches.Education Requirements: BS or equivalent engineering degree/no degree with sufficient experienceBenefits Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work directly with senior quality leadership High-impact role in a new facility launch Clear accountability and streamlined reporting structurePreferred Skills: Electronics GD&T Pneumatics Optical testing
