Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) SpecialistLocation: Indiana (Manufacturing Facility) Reports To: EHS Manager
Company OverviewJoin a global leader at the forefront of its marketplace. We are seeking a dedicated Senior EHS Specialist to join our Indiana manufacturing team. This role is critical in maintaining our high standards for employee safety and operational excellence within a heavy manufacturing environment. Position SummaryAs a Senior EHS Specialist, you will be a key member of the site EHS team, focusing primarily on Safety. Your mission is to champion a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement robust safety programs. While Safety is the priority, experience in Environmental compliance and Industrial Hygiene is highly valued. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of site-specific safety programs (LOTO, Fall Protection, Machine Guarding, Confined Space, etc.).Risk Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and risk assessments to identify and eliminate hazards in heavy manufacturing processes.Incident Management: Lead accident investigations, perform root-cause analysis (RCA), and track corrective actions to completion.Compliance: Ensure the facility remains in full compliance with OSHA standards and corporate safety policies.Training: Design and deliver engaging safety training modules for employees, contractors, and management.Team Collaboration: Assist the EHS Manager in site-wide initiatives and support Environmental or Industrial Hygiene monitoring as needed. Required QualificationsExperience: Minimum of 4–5 years of EHS experience specifically within a heavy manufacturing environment.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.Technical Skills: Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and industry best practices for high-hazard environments.Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence staff at all levels, from the shop floor to senior leadership. Preferred QualificationsExperience or certifications in Industrial Hygiene (IH) or Environmental compliance (EPA/IDEM).Professional certification (e.g., ASP, CSP).
