Position Summary
The Academic Coach provides educational outreach and direct services to participants in the Talent Search Program. The position is responsible for participant recruitment, providing academic, college-access, career, financial literacy, and student development activities, including college knowledge, planning, and TSI Director, TS staff, and scholarship and postsecondary institutions to ensure participants receive appropriate resources, support, and referrals to help them achieve their educational and career goals.

Responsibilities
• Develop schedules for delivering Talent Search services at assigned schools.
• Coordinate and provide student services that support program objectives.
• Assist in the development of appropriate curriculum to support program activities and student needs related to counseling, tutoring, academic skill development, financial literacy, financial aid and scholarships, post-secondary information, career exploration, and parental involvement activities.
• Work directly with students to assess needs, provide guidance and support, and promote academic success, college readiness, and career development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential individual student records, service documentation, and participant tracking data.
• Assist with program activities, events, workshops, campus visits, and other activities.
• Design and increase educational and postsecondary opportunities for participants.
• Support the Director in meeting the Talent Search program objectives, performance measures, and grant requirements.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, conferences, and training activities as required for Talent Search as well as AIRC sponsored events.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• Three years of experience delivering services in an educational outreach program or TRIO program preferred; or at least three years of experience working with students from disadvantaged or underserved backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential student information and accurate records.
• Ability and willingness to participate in occasional evening or weekend activities, travel to assigned schools, attend conferences, workshops, and professional development activities.
