Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to oversee the end-to-end commission reconciliation process and manage our financial records. You will be the primary gatekeeper, ensuring our insurance brokers are paid accurately and on time while maintaining a clean, balanced set of books for the agency.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommission Reconciliation: Audit and reconcile carrier statements against internal sales records to ensure all commissions are received and calculated correctly.Broker Payouts: Calculate and process split-commissions and bonuses for internal and independent brokers, resolving any discrepancies.Financial Record Keeping: Maintain the general ledger, perform bank reconciliations, and manage Accounts Receivable/Payable.Dispute Resolution: Act as the main point of contact for brokers regarding payment inquiries and investigate "missing" commissions with insurance carriers.Reporting: Prepare monthly revenue reports and provide insights into sales trends and brokerage performance.
Required SkillsExperience: 2+ years in accounting, commission analysis, or a similar financial role.Software: Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or industry-specific AMS like Applied Epic or AMS360).Accuracy: A "hawk-eye" for detail; you enjoy finding the $0.05 discrepancy in a 500-line spreadsheet.Communication: Ability to explain complex payment structures to brokers with clarity and patience.
