Accountant at Luxury Products Company Remote

We are a small custom luxury goods brand based in the East Coast of the US, looking for a remote accountant to handle day to day accounting tasks, reporting to a part-time CFO. We are also starting a low-volume company in México to handle some trading activity and this person would handle Mexican accounting affairs. Our ideal person is someone who is organized, takes the initiative, and willing to learn. While not a requirement, anyone who is highly enthusiastic about filing US sales tax in roughly 25 states, or wants to learn, would be beneficial. Full time position paid as a contractor at $2000 USD per month.
We are looking for a candidate near Leon, México as we have many business relationships in the region.
Job Duties· A/Ro Check bank multiple times daily and notify sales when customer payments arriveo Invoice clients, update Quickbooks Online, and send regular adjusted invoices as projects changeo Ensure sales tax is properly charged for invoices (involves many US states)o Highly professional interaction with customers regarding invoices and paymentso Enter Shopify orders into QB and handle returns/refunds· A/Po Normal invoice routing, processing, and entry into Quickbookso Handle weekly payment run (low volume)o Same day payments to major suppliers to start new projectso Reconciliation of vendor accounts· Misco Enter payroll invoice twice per montho Match credit card transactions in QBOo Find and save credit card receiptso Reconcile credit card and bank accountso Cross train and reconcile bank accounts with sister company· México accountingo Very low volume A/R and A/P for México companyo Work with CFO, ownership, and accounting firm for other required accounting tasks
Qualifications· US Eastern Time schedule with some flexibility· Excellent English (spoken and written) a must· Organized and able to work without direct supervision· Quickbooks Online experience· Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting or combination of related accounting experience· Highly organized and able to operate in a small business environment· Must have a suitable remote working environment – reliable internet and electricity, a quiet space to work and handle business calls without noise, and suitable background for video calls.
