Accountant Bookkeeper

Full-Time | Cebu City, Philippines | Night Shift

We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a U.S.-based client. This client-facing role requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent English communication skills, and the ability to work independently while handling financial tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable/receivable, transaction recording, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations
- Serve as a primary accounting and bookkeeping point of contact for the assigned U.S.-based client
- Participate in client calls and communicate accounting updates, questions, requirements, and follow-ups
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports
- Handle account cleanup, documentation, and financial record maintenance
- Support year-end accounting, audit preparation, and tax-related requirements
- Process payroll, tax preparation and filing, and statutory contributions
- Ensure compliance with Philippine tax and payroll regulations
- Apply knowledge of U.S. GAAP and support U.S. accounting operations
- Coordinate with U.S.-based teams on financial matters
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, processes, and efficiency
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Assist with other administrative and operational tasks as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4–6 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
- BPO experience supporting U.S.-based businesses is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, payroll requirements, and statutory compliance
- Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
