Job description
Provide collaborative, high-quality hematology and oncology care as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) serving patients in Hinsdale and New Lenox, Illinois. This full-time, in-person position supports cancer patients, their families, and the healthcare team. The APN must be able to prescribe medications independently and hold a DEA number for controlled-substance prescribing.
Schedule and Locations
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Locations: Hinsdale, IL 60521 and New Lenox, IL 60451
- Work arrangement: In person
- Patient engagement: 30–40 hours per week
Clinical Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a physician to expand care services by diagnosing and treating hematology and oncology conditions.
- Obtain comprehensive health histories, perform physical examinations, document findings, and develop treatment plans in partnership with the care team.
- Provide patient-centered care and support improved outcomes for cancer patients and their families.
- Use knowledge of pharmacology, palliative care, and end-of-life care in clinical practice.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Illinois Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, required before hire.
- DEA license and controlled-substance certification.
- Current BLS and CPR certification.
Education and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an accredited advanced practice nursing program.
- At least two years of oncology nurse practitioner experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, palliative care, and end-of-life care.
