Alex Makarov is seeking a skilled AI/ML Developer to drive innovation in AI research and large language model (LLM) implementation. This full-time role offers remote work flexibility and is based in Moscow, Russia.

About the Role

As an AI/ML Engineer, you will bridge research and practical AI product development. You will experiment with modern AI models and build real-world applications using cutting-edge technologies such as LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, LangChain, OpenRouter, vector databases, and backend APIs.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, test, and evaluate AI/ML techniques, LLM architectures, prompting strategies, and retrieval methods.
• Develop AI-powered applications including document-based question-answering systems, chatbots, AI agents, automation tools, and knowledge retrieval platforms.
• Work with multiple LLM providers and APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Hugging Face, OpenRouter, and open-source models.
• Build and optimize RAG pipelines: document parsing, chunking, embedding generation, vector storage, retrieval, reranking, and response generation.
• Experiment with prompt engineering, structured outputs, function calling, tool integration, agent workflows, and multi-step reasoning.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Evaluate model outputs focusing on accuracy, hallucination reduction, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Work with vector databases including Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS, Qdrant, and pgvector.
• Continuously improve AI system performance through enhanced retrieval logic, prompt design, model selection, caching, and evaluation workflows.
• Stay current with the latest AI models, frameworks, and research advancements.
