Animal Care Attendant

About the role

Penticton Animal Care Control is hiring an animal care attendant to support front desk operations and the daily care of animals.

Responsibilities

• Intake animals coming into care, answer phone calls, and create files.
• Transport animals and provide care and enrichment for animals in care.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in an animal shelter environment.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Knowledge of local animal control bylaws, licensing regulations, and humane handling techniques.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting animals and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with the public, law enforcement partners, and community organizations.
• Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a criminal record check.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
