Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL, to manage local and national accounts. The role requires admission to practice in Illinois, with preference for candidates also admitted to the Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, or Iowa bar. The firm specializes in toxic tort, complex product liability, general liability, and professional liability.
DutiesIndependently manage a litigation caseload.Review, analyze, and draft discovery requests.Conduct depositions.Prepare and argue motions.Provide trial preparation and support.Investigate facts.Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.Attend court hearings and trials.Maintain accurate time records.
RequirementsJuris Doctor from an accredited law school.1-5 years of litigation experience.Admitted to practice in Illinois (secondary admission to Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Texas bar preferred).Experience with motion practice and depositions.Lead experience in plaintiff and expert depositions preferred.Capable of independent work.Highly organized and efficient.Superior research and writing skills.Ability to multi-task effectively.Strong analytical skills.
EducationJuris Doctor from an accredited law school.
CertificationsAdmitted to practice in Illinois.
