Job description

Construction Litigation Associate | Charleston, SC | $150,000 to $320,000 DOE
Good construction litigators get noticed. At this firm, they get promoted.
I'm Clark Pollins at Distinct Recruitment, recruiting on behalf of a strong regional law firm in Charleston. They hire people they expect to grow. Then they hand them the clients, the cases and the visibility to actually do it.
Why people build careers here.Promotion is a path you can see. Associates move up on the strength of their work. [Add a real example if the firm is happy to share, such as recent promotions to partner.]Your name goes on things. Client calls, expert strategy, depositions, motions you argued yourself. That's what a platform looks like.Charleston keeps building. Every project brings a contract, a deadline and the occasional fight about both. The practice stays busy and steady.
The workDefect, delay, payment and contract disputes between owners, contractors and subcontractorsCritical path schedules. Retainage. Differing site conditions. Change order logs that tell a very different story from the contract. If that list makes you want to open the file, you're who they want.Site visits. Occasionally in boots.
About that salary rangeIt's wide because the firm is hiring at two levels.Mid level associates will sit toward the lower end. Senior associates ready to run cases from intake to trial sit toward the top.
You might be the one ifYou have 2 to 8 years of litigation experienceYou're admitted in South Carolina, or eligibleYou can turn a 400 page spec book into three sentences a juror will rememberConstruction isn't in your title yet. Insurance defense with construction files, real estate litigation, surety or design professional work all count here.
