Attorney - Commercial General Liability Georgia Atlanta

About the role

Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is seeking a Georgia barred attorney to independently manage litigated commercial general liability defense matters, with limited oversight from the managing partner of the book of business. The role includes full ownership of case strategy, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, client communications, and participation in business development initiatives within Georgia state courts.

The firm is a premier insurance defense trial law firm with a presence spanning Florida, New York, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and The Bahamas. Its practice areas include insurance defense, admiralty and maritime law, transportation and trucking, personal injury, premises liability, professional malpractice defense, construction, subrogation, and products liability litigation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of active cases.
• Conduct and attend in-person depositions and site inspections.
• Serve as first chair at trial when matters proceed to litigation.
• Manage case strategy, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and client communications.
• Participate in business development initiatives within Georgia state courts.
• Provide indirect guidance or task coordination to legal assistants, clerical staff, or interns as needed.

Requirements

• Admission to the Georgia bar.
• A strong trial mindset and the ability to handle matters efficiently and decisively.
• Experience in negligent security, trucking, and premises liability matters is highly preferred.
• No direct supervisory responsibilities.
• No agency submissions accepted.
