Automation CAD Drafter

About the role

Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and setting up production methods.

Tasks

• Create detailed electrical CAD drawings and layouts.
• Review and update drawings based on engineering redlines.
• Interpret technical specifications and as-built documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure design accuracy and quality standards.
• Support multiple drafting projects from initial research through final documentation.
• Drafting duties on multiple projects, including research, support, implementing designs as directed by engineers, and redline updates.
• Liaise with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs.
• Create detailed designs using CAD software.
• Prepare and review rough sketches with the engineering team.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Create manuals for product operation, features and maintenance.

Requirements

• AutoCAD Electrical
• Ability to read and interpret as-built drawings
• Ability to review electrical control panels and create drawings from scratch
• Proven experience as a CAD Drafter or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
• Drafting trade school education or high school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Technical Degree or certification from American Design Drafting Association (ADDA)
• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role
• Drafting trade school, high school with 5 years’ experience.
