About the role

This position helps keep VPD vehicles and equipment ready for daily police operations.

Tasks

• Moving police vehicles between locations and repair shops
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance
• Keeping vehicles clean and properly equipped
• Managing equipment and supplies
• Maintaining records
• Monitoring security at police vehicle parking facilities

Requirements

• Experienced driver who knows Vancouver's streets
• Comfortable performing basic vehicle maintenance
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Grade 12 education
• Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's licence
• First Aid certificate
• Relevant driving experience
• Ability to lift 20 kg or more
• A Class 4 licence is preferred
• Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
• Pass security clearance requirements
• Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete clerical testing before proceeding to an interview

Schedule

• Auxiliary/casual, with shifts scheduled as needed, including days, evenings, and overnight hours

Pay

• $32.41 to $38.08 per hour
