Azure Cosmos DB Engineer

Tasks

• Design, implement, and optimize Azure Cosmos DB solutions for high-volume transactional workloads.
• Define data modeling, partition key strategies, indexing policies, and data lifecycle management.
• Architect highly available, resilient, and scalable Cosmos DB solutions.
• Monitor and optimize RU consumption, throughput, query latency, and database performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Handle operational activities, deployments, schema evolution, capacity planning, and incident resolution.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
• Cosmos DB data modeling and partition key design.
• Query optimization and performance tuning.
• RU/s and throughput management.
• Indexing policies and Change Feed processing.
• Multi-region deployment and global distribution.
• High availability and disaster recovery.
• Database monitoring and observability.
• Experience supporting high-volume, always-on enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Services, AKS, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Application Insights.
