About the role

MiPonderosa LLC Equestrian Facility and Farm is seeking a barn farm hand to care for horses, cattle, pigs, and fowl.

Responsibilities

• Horse care: Feed hay, grain, and supplements; turn horses out and bring them in; clean stalls and muck pastures; fill and clean water buckets and hay bags; change blankets and fly masks; groom and bathe horses; hold them for vet and farrier visits; drag the arena; and keep barn areas clean and organized.
• Livestock care: Feed and water cattle, pigs, and fowl; monitor animal health and perform head counts; clean pens, pastures, and shelters; and assist with vet calls and supply management.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be reliable, responsible, and looking for a long-term role.
• Be physically able to lift 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 75 lbs.
• Be comfortable working with large animals and outdoors in all seasons.
• Be able to follow detailed care instructions and work independently and as part of a team.
• Pass a pre-employment background check.
