Job description
AITEC SAS is seeking a Botanist / Plant Biologist to join its environmental research team in Panamá, Panama. This full-time, on-site role contributes to biodiversity research and conservation projects focused on understanding and protecting the region’s plant life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field research to assess plant diversity and health across different ecosystems.
- Identify plant species and record findings through detailed data collection and analysis.
- Use laboratory techniques to support ecological studies and environmental assessments.
- Create botanical illustrations for research publications and presentations.
- Contribute to conservation biology initiatives and collaborative project development.
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams to incorporate ecological data into conservation strategies.
- Present findings to stakeholders and participate in community outreach programs.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Botany.
- Strong plant identification and ecological data analysis skills.
- Experience with field research methods and laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of conservation biology and environmental assessment processes.
- At least two years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency with relevant data analysis and illustration software and tools.
- Industry-standard certifications related to botany or ecology are preferred.
Team and Work Environment
