Brass and Percussion Instrument Technician

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair, overhaul, adjust, tune, wash, and clean brass and percussion instruments, including trumpets, trombones, sousaphones, euphoniums, French horns, tubas, legions, melophones, orchestr bells, song bells, autoharps, drums, tympanies, xylophones, marimbas, and alto tenor horns.
Perform soft and silver soldering, brazing, and burnishing; replace felt and cork bumpers and pads; repair and replace drumheads, rods, hooks, and snares; tune percussion instruments; and repair instrument cases.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
Experience: Two years of experience in the repair of brass and percussion instruments.
Completion of a music instrument repair certificate, diploma, or equivalent credits from an educational institution may substitute for one year of the required experience.
