Business Analyst

The Business & Data Analyst is a full-time position with a fast-growing technology firm. The right candidate will be passionate about data, enjoy learning new skills, and thrive in collaborating with Project Managers, Developers, and Clients. This is a remote position.
The Business & Data Analyst position includes a combination of business analysis, data analysis, and solution design responsibilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with stakeholders to understand business needs, translating those needs into data-driven solutions, and contributing to the delivery of reporting and analytics capabilities. Experience working within an Agile environment and supporting software development initiatives is important for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities· Gather, document, and refine business and system requirements from stakeholders· Translate business requirements into functional specifications, data models, and reporting solutions· Analyze business processes and data flows to identify opportunities for improvement· Design and develop SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support reporting and analytics· Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver actionable business insights· Work closely with development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented· Validate data accuracy and perform testing to ensure solutions meet business needs· Support data integration efforts by assisting with data mapping, transformation logic, and validation· Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Job Requirements· 3–6 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or related role· Experience working in a software development or technology-focused environment· Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (queries, joins, aggregations, data validation)· Experience building or supporting dashboards and reports in Power BI· Familiarity with Microsoft Data Platform tools (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Fabric, or similar)· Experience gathering and documenting business requirements· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail· Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements· Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have· Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation· Experience with Power Apps for building internal solutions· Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and data integration concepts· Familiarity with APIs and system integrations· Experience working with financial, operational, or transactional data· Interest or exposure to AI, analytics, or advanced reporting initiatives
