The Manager, Business Development will play a significant role in growing ratings market presence in Latin America. She/he will secure new clients, maintain current client and market relationships and identify/target new growth opportunities in the region working closely with Managing Director to execute regional market development strategy, expansion of current territories and renewal of current ratings.

Responsibilities

Identify and pursue opportunities within the Latin American insurance and reinsurance markets and create proposals of strategies/products/initiatives for the successful growth of AM Best's business in the region Maintain thorough records of all market interactions, as necessary for regulatory compliance Responsible for preparing management reports on targets and goals Initiate contact with prospective (re) insurance organizations and explain to them the value of an AM Best rating and how to participate in that process Speak knowledgeably with brokers, associations, regulators and other interested parties regarding AM Best and its ratings Continuously research market development, regional press and stakeholders for the purpose of identifying opportunities Assist corporate public relations department in securing interviews Liaise with events department to organize regional seminars/events by AM Best Coordinate with the Managing Director and corporate headquarters in the adherence with regulatory standards, documentation of communication with clients, filing of client information and negotiation of contracts. Also assist with fees, maintaining financial records of clients and ensuring payment of contracts Travel within and beyond Mexico to contact potential clients and represent AM Best in attendance of conference, seminars and other market events

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing or Business Administration 3 to 5 years of (re)insurance experience (reinsurance a plus) in a broking/ commercial/sales development capacity

Skills

Must be an energetic self-starter, capable of prospecting, identifying, planning and closing business opportunities Fluent in Spanish and English, conversational and written. Portuguese a plus Knowledge of Insurance/Reinsurance industry and operations required. Knowledge of Ratings Industry recommended Highly organized and accurate record-keeper Effective communicator. Must be able to speak with CEOs and CFOs of (re)insurance organizations Teamwork essential. Must collaborate effectively with other departments in AMBAL and other offices worldwide
