Job description
About the role
Work on scientific computing applications supporting seismic imaging, high-performance computing (HPC), and advanced research initiatives.
Tasks
- Develop and maintain scientific applications for seismic imaging.
- Collaborate with researchers to commercialize prototype research code.
- Optimize applications for HPC systems and improve processing throughput.
- Partner with geoscientists and HPC teams on performance and system improvements.
- Contribute to code quality, testing, and modern software engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong experience with modern C++ (C++11 and later)
- Python programming and Bash scripting
- Linux/Unix development environment
- Parallel computing and performance optimization
- Experience integrating and working with third-party APIs
- Strong understanding of algorithms, code complexity, and computational performance
- Preferred: OpenMP, MPI, and CUDA
- Preferred: HPC application development and performance tuning
- Preferred: CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and DevOps practices
- Preferred: Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile/Scrum
- Preferred: Profiling tools such as Intel VTune, NVIDIA Nsight, or gprof
- Preferred: Scientific simulation, seismic imaging, or geoscience software development
