About the role
Gradian Thermal Solutions creates custom-engineered thermal management solutions for markets that thrive on flexibility, creativity, and bold ideas. The CAD Manager leads and develops the Mechanical Design and Drafting team and maintains the systems, standards, and processes supporting product development and manufacturing.
The role owns CAD infrastructure, engineering data management, drawing standards, release processes, and drafting workflows. It ensures engineering documentation is accurate, standardized, manufacturable, and released on schedule, while driving continuous improvement across CAD, PDM/Vault, ERP integration, configuration management, and manufacturing documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the drafting and design team.
- Manage workloads, priorities, and resource planning.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
- Own the drawing release process and ensure manufacturing packages are completed on time.
- Establish and monitor drawing release KPIs and department performance metrics.
- Ensure released documentation meets quality standards.
