Provide compassionate, day-to-day support to residents in Los Angeles, California. This full-time, on-site caregiver role helps residents with activities of daily living, personal care, dining, communication, and participation in community activities, following each resident’s Service Plan.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living as specified in their Service Plans and respond promptly to requests.
• Support residents with toileting and elimination needs, including incontinence care, use of briefs, bowel and bladder training, and use of urinals, commodes, and toilet seat extensions.
• Help residents safely transfer, reposition, and turn using effective body mechanics.
• Assist residents with self-administration of medications.
• Serve meals, beverages, and snacks as directed; prepare, clean, and bus the dining area.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities and support their mental and emotional well-being.
• Communicate positively and respectfully, including with residents who have sensory deficits, and respond appropriately to resident behavior.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition using appropriate terminology and abbreviations.
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe community; identify hazards, follow injury-prevention practices, and use safe procedures when oxygen is in use.
• Attend scheduled team meetings and participate in required and voluntary education and in-service training.
• Use basic computer skills to print shift task sheets, enter resident notes, and send or respond to internal email.
