Job Summary

Join Odinakachi Nwankpa as a Cath Lab Technologist assisting credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in cardiac and vascular labs. This role supports teamwork and aligns with KPNW’s mission and philosophy, working under direct supervision.

Essential Responsibilities

• Serve as scrub assistant or monitor/recorder during cardiology and radiology procedures.
• Prepare and position patients for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
• Assist cardiovascular tests and record hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic equipment and laboratory instruments.
• Manage patient arterial and venous access post-procedure, including sheath removal and hemostatic device management.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pump as needed.
• Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms; alert providers and team members per protocol.
• Administer intra-coronary and intra-arterial medications under physician supervision.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic techniques for testing.
• Operate hemodynamic and monitoring equipment; start and maintain IVs with proper certification.
• Use IVUS and Site Rite ultrasound machines proficiently.
• Perform basic and advanced life support, including defibrillation when required.
• Conduct point-of-care tests such as activated clotting time (ACT), oxygen saturations, and arterial blood gases (ABG).
• Provide patient education on procedures.
• Respond on-call within 30 minutes onsite as required.
• Restock supplies, maintain cleanliness, perform quality assurance, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate vendor services.

Work Schedule and Requirements

This is a full-time position based in Happy Valley, Oregon. Remote work is not eligible. Candidates must be prepared for on-call duties and rapid response.
