Job Summary

Odinakachi Nwankpa is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist in Happy Valley, Oregon. Under the direct supervision of a credentialed provider, you will assist with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in cardiac and vascular laboratory settings. The role supports patient care, teamwork, and the organization’s mission and goals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder during cardiology and radiology studies.
• Prepare and position patients for invasive procedures, and provide patient education about procedures.
• Assist with cardiovascular testing and record hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic equipment and laboratory instruments.
• Manage arterial and venous access sites after procedures, including sheath removal and safe use of hemostatic devices.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot an intra-aortic balloon pump when required.
• Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms, and promptly alert the provider and team according to protocol.
• Administer intracoronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct physician supervision.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field using aseptic technique; operate and maintain hemodynamic and monitoring equipment.
• Start and maintain IVs when appropriately trained and certified. Use IVUS and Site Rite ultrasound equipment.
• Provide basic and advanced life support when required, including defibrillation.
• Maintain proficiency with point-of-care testing, including activated clotting time (ACT), oxygen saturation, and arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Participate in quality assurance, troubleshoot equipment issues, initiate vendor service, restock supplies, and maintain a clean work area.
• Work on call and respond on-site within 30 minutes when called.

Compensation and Schedule

Pay is $47.19 per hour. This is a full-time, on-site position with on-call responsibilities.
