Wide Open Road Coffee is looking for an experienced Chef to join our team in Byron Bay.

We’re a busy café focused on quality food, specialty coffee, and great customer experiences. We’re seeking a motivated chef with at least 2 years of professional kitchen experience who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive team culture.

The role includes:

• Preparing and executing a high-quality breakfast and lunch service

• Managing daily food preparation and service requirements

• Maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards

• Assisting with ordering, stock rotation, and stock control

• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met

• Supporting an organised, efficient kitchen operation

• Contributing ideas for seasonal specials and menu development

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a chef or cook in a café, restaurant, or similar environment

• Can work independently and take ownership of their section

• Is organised, efficient, and calm under pressure

• Has strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen workflow, and food safety practices

• Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food

• Works well within a team and communicates effectively

• Is reliable, punctual, and preferably seeking long-term employment
