Job description
Bluebix Solutions is hiring a full-time, remote Civil Designer to support transportation and rail infrastructure design projects. This opportunity is based in Plano, Texas, and is suited to a self-motivated professional with at least five years of civil engineering experience.
About the Role
Create engineering drawings, exhibits, and design plans using MicroStation and OpenRoads. You will support project managers and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams to deliver transportation projects for clients in sectors including agriculture, chemicals, building materials, aggregates, and energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams on rail and transportation design projects.
- Support quality control, design oversight, specifications, and project budget tracking.
- Prepare concept aerial drawings, plan and profile sheets, and detailed CAD deliverables in MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Develop roadway modeler templates, generate cross sections, and define mass grading for track projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and digital maps using survey data.
- Update and finalize plans for submission to transportation and railroad agencies.
- Manage project documentation, schedules, progress updates, and design coordination.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for rail-related design packages.
- Review and self-check deliverables for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications
- At least five years of civil engineering experience.
- Experience preparing transportation or rail infrastructure design deliverables.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Ability to interpret survey data and create CAD drawings, cross sections, and grading designs.
- Strong communication, organization, and quality-control skills.
- Self-motivated and able to coordinate effectively with remote, multidisciplinary teams.
