POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced Civil/Concrete Superintendent to oversee field operations for industrial civil and concrete construction projects throughout the United States. This is a hands-on field leadership position with a strong emphasis on surveying, construction layout, concrete placement, civil construction, and field execution. The Superintendent will be responsible for directing crews, coordinating equipment and materials, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality and safety, and working closely with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, and customers.
The ideal candidate is a proven field leader who understands how to take a set of drawings and project specifications and translate them into accurate field construction. Strong experience with survey equipment, layout and field verification is particularly important.Experience with pipeline station concrete, tank foundations, equipment foundations, building foundations/floors, structural concrete, or other industrial concrete construction is highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCivil, Concrete & Field ConstructionDirect and supervise daily civil and concrete construction activities from project mobilization through completion.Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents.Establish and maintain accurate field layout and construction control using survey equipment and appropriate layout technology.Perform or oversee field measurements, elevations, benchmarks, grades, points, lines, offsets, and other construction layout requirements.Verify field conditions and ensure construction is being performed according to plans, specifications, and tolerances.Oversee concrete preparation, reinforcing steel, formwork, placement, finishing, curing, and related activities.Coordinate civil site preparation, excavation, grading, foundations, slabs, equipment foundations, tank foundations, and related work.Identify drawing conflicts, field discrepancies, constructability issues, and potential delays and communicate them to the Project Manager.Ensure proper sequencing of work between concrete, civil, structural steel, equipment installation, and other trades.
Survey & LayoutServe as a key field resource for survey and construction layout activitiesUtilize survey/layout equipment and software to establish accurate construction points and elevations.Experience with Magnet Field or comparable survey software is strongly preferred.Verify completed work against design elevations, dimensions, grades, and tolerances.Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, inspectors, and project management to resolve layout and field issues.Maintain accurate field documentation and communicate changes or discrepancies promptly.
Field Leadership & ProductionLead and coordinate field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and equipment operators.Manage manpower, equipment, materials, and daily production requirements.Direct crews of up to 50+ employees, depending on project size.Establish daily and weekly production goals and monitor progress against the project schedule.Identify potential delays early and develop solutions to keep the project moving.Coordinate material deliveries, equipment requirements, subcontractors, and other resources necessary for uninterrupted production.Provide daily progress updates, manpower reports, production information, and field documentation to the Project Manager.
Project & Customer CoordinationWork closely with the Project Manager and Division Manager to ensure successful project execution.Communicate daily project progress, schedule concerns, manpower needs, material requirements, and potential change-order work.Document additional work, delays, changed conditions, and other impacts to the original scope.Maintain positive working relationships with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and customer representatives.Represent the company professionally in the field and contribute to long-term customer relationships and repeat b
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 5 years of superintendent or field supervisory experience in civil, concrete, industrial, or related construction.Strong working knowledge of civil and concrete construction methods and practices.Significant survey and construction layout experience is strongly preferred.Experience using Magnet Field or comparable survey/layout software and equipment preferred.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, plans, and scopes of work.Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: Pipeline station construction, Tank foundations, Oil & gas facilities, Equipment foundations, Building foundations and slabs, Industrial concrete, Structural concrete, Civil/site work, Structural steelProven ability to manage crews of up to 50 employees.Strong understanding of project sequencing, production, scheduling, manpower, equipment, and materials.Strong communication and leadership skills.Ability to identify field issues and proactively develop solutions.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and standard project documentation systems.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding field environment.Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the United States, with significant project work in North Dakota and West Texas.Must be able to work safely in a construction environment and meet applicable DOT/company safety requirements.
