Role OverviewWe are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, with hands-on experience managing containerized workloads and infrastructure as code.
Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure- Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools- Build, compile, and deploy scientific code written in C++ and Fortran (no programming required — focus is on build systems and deployment)- Monitor infrastructure performance and optimize for cost and reliability- Implement disaster recovery and incident response procedures- Collaborate with the engineering team to support scientific computing workloads
Requirements- 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps roles- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, or Azure). GCP experience is a plus- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)- Familiarity with C++ and Fortran build systems and compilation processes (CMake, Make, or similar)- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab)- University degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, IT, or related field
Nice to Have- Experience with HPC (High Performance Computing) environments- Knowledge of Singularity containers- Background in scientific or energy-related computing environments
