Commercial Real Estate Transactions Associate (4 to 5 Years) | Illinois HybridLocation: Chicago area, IllinoisSchedule: Hybrid, in office Tuesday through ThursdayCompensation: Base salary from $270,000 (USD) A confidential U.S. law firm seeks a commercial real estate associate attorney to support a sophisticated transactional practice. This role is primarily focused on complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and joint ventures, with occasional exposure to defense-side real estate and commercial disputes.

The role - Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related closing documentation- Support commercial leasing matters, including drafting and negotiating leases and amendments- Assist with real estate finance transactions, including loan documentation and closing deliverables- Advise on joint venture and ownership structures in connection with real estate investments- Manage and coordinate due diligence, title and survey review, and closing checklists- Interface with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to move transactions from term sheet to closing- Provide occasional support on defense-side real estate or commercial disputes as needed
Requirements- 4 to 5 years of commercial real estate experience from a large law firm or a strong boutique real estate practice- Active Illinois bar admission in good standing- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school (top-15 law school preferred; top-20 law school considered)- Law school GPA of 3.5 or higher- Strong drafting and negotiation skills across core real estate agreements- Ability to manage multiple matters with sound judgment, organization, and attention to detail Preferred background- Experience working on sophisticated matters for institutional real estate clients (for example, REITs, developers, or investment platforms)- A representative transaction list or deal sheet demonstrating relevant experience If this opportunity aligns with your experience and career goals, please apply or reach out directly to learn more.
