Position Overview
ENT MATRIX is hiring a Computer Programmer for a full-time, long-term role in Herndon, Virginia. You will design, develop, and maintain applications—including systems built on legacy technology—while working with application teams and business partners.
Responsibilities
- Review the Application Team’s work plan and provide work status and delivery estimates to the Team Lead.
- Participate in requirements-gathering sessions.
- Design and develop applications from specifications and defined interfaces, aligning solutions with functional and technical requirements.
- Explain complex technical concepts to business partners.
- Identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, including concerns about accuracy or feasibility.
- Maintain applications that use legacy technology.
- Work independently and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong knowledge of Java and JavaScript.
- Experience with hands-on technical design in large enterprise systems.
- Ability to make recommendations based on industry standards and best practices.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and troubleshooting application issues.
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and ability to take direction from business and functional partners.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Compensation and Work Location
This is a full-time, non-remote position based in Herndon, VA. The stated compensation is $110,000 per year.
