Concrete Form Carpenter in Muscle Shoals, AL

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is hiring a Concrete Form Carpenter for a long-term, temp-to-hire opportunity serving concrete contractors in the Courtland area. The position is based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and pays $30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to determine formwork layout and dimensions.
• Measure and cut materials accurately using hand and power tools.
• Build concrete molds, forms, and scaffolds to project specifications; use levels, plumb bobs, and laser equipment to check measurements and angles.
• Place and secure reinforcing steel bars or mesh within forms.
• Pour, spread, and level concrete, ensuring even distribution and minimizing air pockets.
• Finish poured concrete surfaces using hand or power tools, including smoothing and polishing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous commercial form carpentry or similar experience is often required.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans.
• Knowledge of wood and other construction materials.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, and shaping materials and using hand and power tools.
• Concrete pouring and finishing skills.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods.
• Precision and accuracy in measurements and construction.

Pay and schedule

• Pay: $30 per hour
• Schedule: Monday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; 40+ hours per week
• Employment: Full-time, long-term temp-to-hire
