Controller — Remote, Concord, New Hampshire
Methodology is hiring a full-time, fully remote Controller to lead finance, accounting, and tax operations for a profitable U.S. food and wellness company. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be the company's sole finance professional, with end-to-end ownership of financial operations and strategic planning.

- Provides chef-designed, health-focused meals, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free options, to clients in California and across the U.S.
- Operates a commercial production kitchen and works with farm and logistics partners.
- Sells direct to consumers through Shopify and ships nationwide.
- Is expanding into consumer packaged goods, including cookies and pantry products.
- Is bootstrapped and stable, with $26 million in revenue and a 12%+ net profit margin.
What You’ll Own
- Tax leadership: Prepare and file federal, state, city, and county corporate tax returns; research and claim applicable R&D, WOTC, donated food, and energy credits; manage IRS correspondence and audits; and work toward or maintain Enrolled Agent credentials.
- Accounting operations: Review and approve company expenses, lead month-end close with a 3–5-day target, prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, and reconcile Shopify, Stripe, and other merchant processors.
- Manufacturing accounting: Track perishable food inventory; allocate COGS across culinary and delivery labor, food purchases, and packaging; monitor shrinkage and waste; and build production cost models by SKU and menu item.
- Strategic finance: Develop budgets, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support operating decisions and the company’s growth.
