Job description
East Central College is hiring a full-time Custodial Supervisor in Union, Missouri. This on-site role coordinates custodial operations and helps maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of college buildings, facilities, and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and schedule custodial staff, and coordinate special projects during academic terms and breaks.
- Work with the Director on employee selection, retention, promotion, and discipline recommendations.
- Enforce safe work practices, procedures, and standards for custodial duties and grounds maintenance.
- Oversee departmental workers’ compensation reporting and assist the Director and Human Resources with related procedures.
- Train new and current employees on job duties, safety, equipment, and chemical use.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings and keep Safety Data Sheets current and accessible.
- Frequently inspect assigned areas to ensure work is completed properly and orderly.
- Supervise furniture and equipment moves, along with setup and takedown for college and athletic events on and off campus.
- Coordinate and assist with snow removal.
Qualifications
- Associate degree and more than five years of related work experience, including supervisory experience.
- A comparable combination of training, education, or experience may substitute for the stated minimum qualifications.
