Role summaryThe candidate is the primary Finance consultant for a live D365 F&O environment and complement a colleague whose primary specialization is SCM. The candidate resolves L2/L3 Finance incidents, delivers change and enhancement requests, and uses working knowledge of SCM to trace how supply chain transactions reach the ledger.
Key responsibilitiesResolve L2 and L3 Finance incidents within SLA: analyse root cause, apply configuration or process fixes, and escalate code-level defects to the technical team with clear reproduction steps.Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Tax and Budgeting.Troubleshoot financial dimensions, posting profiles, ledger journals, intercompany transactions and bank reconciliation.Work with the SCM consultant to trace procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and inventory transactions through to the general ledger.Assess the business impact of every incident and change request (financial close, order fulfilment, vendor and customer impact) to set priority, communicate clearly and escalate when needed.Run structured end-of-shift handovers with the counterpart team in Mexico and India: open tickets, current status, business impact, risks and next steps.Assess change and enhancement requests: capture requirements, run fit-gap, write functional design documents, configure, and support UAT and go-live.Review incidents for recurring patterns and recommend permanent fixes, process improvements and Microsoft-recommended practices.Manage Microsoft one-version updates: regression test cases, impact analysis and post-update validation.Maintain support documentation, runbooks, configuration records and knowledge-base articles; update tickets promptly and join client status calls.Provide emergency (P1/P2) and deployment support outside working hours on a rotating on-call roster.
Required skillsStrong functional depth in D365 F&O Finance as the primary specialization: GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Tax, Budgeting and financial dimensions.Working knowledge of SCM: Procurement, Sales, Inventory and costing, and how they post to Finance.Understanding of end-to-end flows: Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report.Hands-on experience with L2/L3 production support in an ITSM tool such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow or Jira.Experience supporting a client from a distributed, multi-time-zone team, including structured handovers and clear written status updates.Ability to assess business impact and prioritise incidents and changes accordingly.Ability to write functional design documents and UAT scripts.Fluent written and spoken English, with confidence working directly with US stakeholders.
PreferredMicrosoft certification: MB-310 (Finance).Advanced Project Management and Accounting capabilities: project contracts, WIP, billing rules, revenue recognition, project budgets and forecasting.Prior exposure to US client environments, including US tax and compliance requirements and US GAAP.Experience with data management framework, Power Platform or integrations to banking, tax or third-party systems.
