Job description
About the role
Step by Step Professional Services is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a major enterprise data modernization initiative.
Tasks
- Design and develop enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and OneLake
- Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Integrate and transform data from SQL Server, Dynamics 365, Dataverse, APIs, and other enterprise sources
- Support data migration and modernization initiatives involving legacy Microsoft technologies
- Create reporting-ready datasets, dimensional models, and analytics solutions
- Implement data quality, governance, security, validation, and monitoring processes
- Produce technical documentation, mapping specifications, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, developers, and project teams
Requirements
- 5+ years of Data Engineering, Data Integration, or Data Migration experience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL / T-SQL, ETL/ELT Pipeline Development, Data Warehousing, Data Modelling, Azure Cloud Data Solutions
- Experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Experience with data governance, security, and data quality practices
- Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 and/or Dataverse
- Strong analytical and communication skills
