MetLife is seeking a Data Scientist / AI Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Jersey City, New Jersey. This opportunity is suited to an AI and machine learning professional with experience building scalable solutions that turn complex data into measurable business impact.
Role overview
In this role, you will develop and deploy machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, computer vision, and cloud-based analytics solutions. You will help improve decision-making and operational efficiency through production-ready data science systems and predictive models.
Key responsibilities and experience
- Build LLM-powered chatbots that help clients analyze structured data and streamline decision-making.
- Develop computer vision solutions, including automated engineering drawing comparisons with OpenCV.
- Deploy end-to-end data science workflows using AWS and Vertex AI, and optimize machine learning pipelines.
- Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques, including XGBoost, to generate accurate predictions.
- Design ETL workflows using Spark and Python, with a focus on data quality and processing efficiency.
- Develop time-series forecasting solutions using LSTM models and create interactive Power BI dashboards.
- Use generative AI to automate reporting and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
- More than four years of experience delivering AI-driven solutions across industries.
- Experience with machine learning, NLP, generative AI, computer vision, and production-grade analytics.
- Hands-on knowledge of Python, Spark, OpenCV, AWS, Vertex AI, XGBoost, LSTM, and Power BI.
- Ability to translate complex data challenges into scalable solutions with measurable business impact.
