Database Architect

About the role

The role involves architecting enterprise data solutions on AWS and supporting analytics, reporting, and data engineering initiatives within the Capital Markets domain.

Tasks

• Architect and design cloud-based data platforms using Databricks on AWS.
• Build and optimize scalable data architectures using Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and Spark.
• Define enterprise data models and data integration standards.
• Provide architectural guidance to data engineering and analytics teams.
• Ensure data performance, reliability, security, and governance.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align data solutions with business objectives.

Requirements

• 8+ Years (Expert Level)
• Databricks: Expert-level experience with Apache Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, jobs, and performance tuning.
• AWS: Hands-on experience with S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, and Glue.
• Databases: Strong RDBMS concepts, SQL, and data modeling.
• Programming: SQL, Python, and/or Scala.
• OS & Scripting: Unix/Linux and Shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets operations and data flows.
• Experience supporting trading, risk management, reference data, and regulatory reporting systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and make critical architectural decisions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
