Deputy Chief Networking Officer

About the role

The Office of Innovation and Technology (Client) is seeking a leader to guide the organization’s networking infrastructure.

This role involves managing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of network systems.

Tasks

• Develop and execute strategic networking initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead the design, implementation, and management of LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networking solutions.
• Oversee network security, performance optimization, high availability, and scalability.
• Manage disaster recovery, business continuity, risk assessment, and compliance.
• Lead vendor evaluation, contract negotiations, budget planning, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with the CIO, IT leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Network Systems Certification – JNCIP, OR at least 5 years of measurable relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Communications, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
• Strong leadership experience and expertise in network infrastructure, architecture, security, and operations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates must currently reside in the City of Philadelphia or be willing to establish residency within 6 months of hire.
