About the role

The Market Director of Finance (MDOF) for Resort Operations is a proactive and trusted business leader at Marriott Vacations Worldwide. The role provides financial expertise and leads financial analysis and reporting to help business partners make timely, informed decisions, optimize business value, and manage financial risk.

The MDOF leads Resort Operations Finance in support of the Resort Operations team. The team includes Finance and Accounting (F&A) professionals based at various resort locations within a geographic area. Its work includes financial compliance with management agreements with nonprofit property owners’ associations, as well as financial and accounting reporting and analysis for on-site ancillary business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Resort Operations Finance in alignment with the Resort Operations team.
• Anticipate changes in the business environment while meeting company financial objectives and ensuring accounting-control compliance across the resort portfolio.
• Provide clear direction through effective communication, realistic expectations, progress monitoring, follow-up, and course correction when needed.
• Partner with stakeholders to positively impact business decisions.
• Ensure the integrity of financial reporting and improve its transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Establish Finance and Accounting goals aligned with organizational goals, lead change to support company objectives, and motivate and recruit the Resort Operations Finance team.
