Position SummaryThe Dispatcher coordinates day-to-day freight movement across one or more service lines (truckload, drayage/intermodal, and/or brokered freight), acting as the central point of contact between drivers or carriers, customers, and internal operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, clear communication in English, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSchedule and assign loads to company drivers and/or contracted carriers, planning routes and confirming pickup and delivery windows.Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and carriers while en route, resolving delays, breakdowns, or service issues in real time.Communicate proactively with customers on load status, ETAs, and any exceptions or special handling requirements.Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the dispatch/TMS system, including load status, driver logs, and dispatch notes.Prepare and review dispatch documentation, including bills of lading, freight bills, and delivery confirmations.Monitor compliance with relevant transportation regulations (e.g., Hours of Service) and flag issues to the appropriate team.Coordinate with brokerage, customer service, and operations teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity gaps.Support drayage/intermodal moves as needed, including container availability, appointment scheduling, and chassis coordination.Escalate service failures, claims, or safety concerns to management promptly and accurately.Required Qualifications2–5 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, or a related customer service/coordination role.Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken); comfortable on calls with U.S.-based drivers and customers.Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.Comfortable working standard U.S. business hours.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) or equivalent tools.Clear, professional communication style and a customer-service mindset.Preferred QualificationsExperience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) such as McLeod, Samsara, Rose Rocket, or Turvo (training provided if not already familiar).Prior experience with FTL, LTL, drayage/intermodal, or freight brokerage operations.Familiarity with U.S. trucking regulations (e.g., Hours of Service, UIIA) a plus.
