Role Description The Elementary Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Santo Domingo. This role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons that support academic, social, and emotional development for elementary-level students, including students on the autism spectrum. The teacher will design and adapt curriculum materials, implement individualized education plans, and use evidence-based teaching strategies in coordination with therapeutic and support staff. Daily responsibilities include managing classroom routines, assessing student progress, maintaining clear documentation, and communicating regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members. The teacher will also participate in professional development activities and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Qualifications
Strong Teaching and Elementary Education skills, with experience designing and facilitating engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons.Ability in Curriculum Development and Education planning, including adapting content to diverse learning needs and individualized education plans.Effective Communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams, and for documenting student progress clearly.Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, or a related field; a teaching license or certification is preferred.Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or in inclusive education settings is highly beneficial.Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and non-discriminatory practices in education.Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrate patience and empathy, and maintain professionalism in a dynamic, child-centered environment.
