Role Description The Elementary English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate English language instruction to elementary-level students in Guatemala City. This full-time, on-site role involves preparing and implementing daily lesson plans, teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and using diverse methods to support different learning styles. The teacher will assess student progress, provide regular feedback, maintain accurate records, and communicate with families and school staff about student development. Additional duties include classroom management, participation in school meetings and events, collaboration with colleagues on curriculum planning, and contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
QualificationsCandidates should possess strong English Teaching and Teaching skills, with proven experience at the elementary level.Candidates should possess Lesson Planning skills and a solid foundation in Education practices appropriate for young learners.Candidates should possess clear and effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field; teaching certification or license is highly desirable.Experience working in classroom settings with diverse student populations and varying learning needs.Ability to design engaging, inclusive lessons that promote language acquisition and student participation.Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a collaborative approach to working within a school team.Proficiency in classroom management and commitment to creating a respectful, supportive learning environment; Spanish language skills are an asset.
