Engineering Expert (Staff/Principal Software Engineer/Architect)

About the role

Our client is looking for a hands-on Engineering Expert to serve as a senior technical authority within its consumer domain.

This person will be responsible for defining technical vision, architectural direction and engineering strategy across large-scale initiatives, while remaining close to the actual engineering work.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Several years operating at a Staff / Principal / Architect / Technical Lead level.
• Demonstrated ownership of technical vision, architecture and solution design.
• Experience architecting large-scale, customer-facing digital platforms.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and modern architectural/design patterns.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and strong AWS expertise.
• Modern full-stack experience; exposure to TypeScript, Node.js and Next.js is highly relevant.
• Proven ability to remain hands-on while operating at an architectural level.
• Experience introducing and driving adoption of new technologies.
• Practical experience with AI/AI-assisted software engineering.
• Only those already in Canada with valid working permit will be considered.
