Estimator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join an established ship repair operation in Vancouver, Canada.

Tasks

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for ship repair and maintenance projects
• Analyse technical specifications, drawings and scope of work
• Identify labour, material and subcontractor requirements
• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors
• Support contract negotiations
• Provide cost analysis and value engineering input
• Maintain accurate records and estimating databases

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Estimator within ship repair, shipbuilding or a similar marine environment
• Strong technical knowledge of ship repair, maintenance and marine engineering
• Experience in analysing drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shipyard environment
• Fluent in English (essential)
• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
