Beverly Miguel is seeking an experienced Executive Editor, Reparative Justice & Public Policy, for a full-time, on-site position in New York City, New York.

About the Role

This is a policy-focused editorial leadership role, not a general editing or content-writing position. You will guide the development of high-impact policy reports, public-facing publications, and strategic recommendations addressing historical injustices and systemic inequities.

The role is suited to a policy leader, researcher, or editorial strategist with direct experience at the intersection of public policy, social justice, and historical research. Candidates whose experience is limited to general publishing, marketing, or communications without policy depth may not be a fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, editing, and publication of policy reports and official documents.
• Synthesize complex research on slavery, systemic racism, and reparative justice into clear, actionable insights.
• Collaborate with policymakers, researchers, and community stakeholders.
• Maintain accuracy, integrity, and impact across written materials.
• Represent initiatives at public forums, stakeholder meetings, and community engagement events.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in public policy, social justice, or reparative justice initiatives.
• Strong understanding of historical inequities and policy frameworks addressing systemic racism.
• Demonstrated success editing, publishing, and producing high-level reports or government documents.
• Exceptional communication and editorial judgment.
